Jevargi is the assembly constituency which comes under the Gulbarga district. It is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies. Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 for Jevargi will be held on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.
Jevargi assembly constituency had 2,31,847 electors in 2018, out of which 1,16,404 were male voters and 1,15,411 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.
In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2018, Jevargi constituency had 11 candidates for assembly seat contention. Jevargi was one of 80 seats won by the Indian National Congress. Indian National Congress's Ajay Dharam Singh won the election by upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Doddappagowda S. Patil Naribol by a margin of 16,056 votes.
The top three candidates split 97.6% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Ajay Dharam Singh got a total of 68,508 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Doddappagowda S. Patil Naribol secured 52,452 votes. Janata Dal (Secular)'s candidate Kedarlingayya Hiremath grabbed the third spot with 35,691 votes. The top three parties got 42.7%, 32.7% and 22.2% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Indian National Congress's Ajay Dharam Singh outperformed Bharatiya Janata Party's Doddappa Gouda Patil by 36,700 votes.
