Hukkeri is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Belgaum district. Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 for Hukkeri will be held on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.
In 2018, the Hukkeri assembly seat had 1,90,910 registered voters, 95,923 were male and 94,978 were female voters. 1.0% of voters opted for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election, there were 11 candidates in the fray from Hukkeri constituency. Hukkeri was one of 104 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Umesh Vishwanath Katti won the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Appayyagouda Basagouda Patil by a margin of 15,385 votes.
The top two candidates split 97.3% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Umesh Vishwanath Katti got a total of 83,588 votes, while Indian National Congress's Appayyagouda Basagouda Patil secured 68,203 votes. Janata Dal (Secular)'s candidate Mallikarjun Babagoud Patil secured 1,426 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 53.6%, 43.7% and 0.9% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Bharatiya Janata Party's Umesh Vishwanath Katti outperformed Indian National Congress's Ravi Basavaraj Karale by 57,326 votes.
