Hubli-Dharwad Central comes under the Dharwad district and it is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies. People of Hubli-Dharwad Central voted for Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.
Hubli-Dharwad Central assembly constituency had 2,33,884 electors in 2018, out of which 1,17,255 were male voters and 1,16,600 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.4% votes.
In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2018, Hubli-Dharwad Central constituency had 26 candidates for assembly seat contention. Hubli-Dharwad Central was one of 104 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Jagadish Shettar won the election by upstaging Indian National Congress's Dr. Mahesh Nalwad by a margin of 21,306 votes.
The top two candidates split 88.8% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Jagadish Shettar got a total of 75,794 votes, while Indian National Congress's Dr. Mahesh Nalwad secured 54,488 votes. Janata Dal (Secular)'s candidate Rajanna M. Koravi secured 10,754 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 51.7%, 37.1% and 7.3% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Bharatiya Janata Party's Jagadish Shettar defeated Indian National Congress's Dr. Mahesh Nalwad by 17,754 votes.
