Chintamani is the assembly constituency which comes under the Kolar district. It is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies. Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 for Chintamani will be held on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.
In Karnataka Assembly Election 2018, there were 2,10,635 registered voters for Chintamani assembly seat, out of which 1,05,482 were male and 1,05,113 were female voters. 0.4% of voters opted for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2018, Chintamani constituency had 22 candidates for assembly seat contention. Chintamani was one of 37 seats won by the Janata Dal (Secular). It was a close contest with Janata Dal (Secular)'s J K Krishna Reddy winning the election upstaging Bharatiya Praja Paksha's Dr.M.C Sudhakar by a margin of just 5,673 votes.
The top two candidates split 94.4% of votes between them. Janata Dal (Secular)'s J K Krishna Reddy got a total of 87,753 votes, while Bharatiya Praja Paksha's Dr.M.C Sudhakar secured 82,080 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Vani Krishnareddy secured 2,233 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 48.8%, 45.6% and 1.2% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Janata Dal (Secular)'s J.K.Krishnareddy defeated independent candidate Dr. M.C. Sudhakar by 1,773 votes.
