Aland comes under the Gulbarga district and it is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies. People of Aland voted for Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.
In 2018, the Aland assembly seat had 2,29,638 registered voters, 1,19,328 were male and 1,10,276 were female voters. 0.6% of voters opted for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2018, Aland constituency had 11 candidates for assembly seat contention. Aland was one of 104 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was an extremely close fight, with Bharatiya Janata Party's Guttedar Subhash Rukmayya winning the election defeating Indian National Congress's B R Patil by a narrow margin of 697 votes.
The top two candidates split 96.1% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Guttedar Subhash Rukmayya got a total of 76,815 votes, while Indian National Congress's B R Patil secured 76,118 votes. Janata Dal (United)'s candidate Arunkumar C Patil Hallisalgar secured 2,213 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 48.3%, 47.8% and 1.4% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Karnataka Jantha Paksha's Bhojaraj Ramchandra defeated Janata Dal (Secular)'s Subhash Rukmaiah by 17,114 votes.
