In 2017, 16 candidates were competing for Vatva assembly constituency seat. Vatva was one of 99 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Pradipsinh Bhagvatsinh Jadeja comfortably winning the election defeating Indian National Congress's Patel Bipinchandra Rugnathbhai (BIPINKAKA) by a huge margin of 62,380 votes.
The top two candidates split 95.3% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Pradipsinh Bhagvatsinh Jadeja got a total of 1,31,133 votes, while Indian National Congress's Patel Bipinchandra Rugnathbhai (BIPINKAKA) secured 68,753 votes.
