It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Piyushbhai Dinkerbhai Desai comfortably winning the election defeating Indian National Congress's Bhavnaben Anilbhai Patel by a huge margin of 46,095 votes.
96.2% of votes were split between top 2 candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Piyushbhai Dinkerbhai Desai secured a total of 1,00,060 votes, while Indian National Congress's Bhavnaben Anilbhai Patel got 53,965 votes. Independent candidate Naresh B. Naik (MAHADEV) grabbed 1,121 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 62.5%, 33.7% and 0.7% respectively.
