Indian National Congress's Bavaliya Kunvarjibhai Mohanbhai won the election by defeating Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr.Bharat Khodabhai Boghara by a margin of 9,277 votes.
The top two candidates split 95.7% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Bavaliya Kunvarjibhai Mohanbhai got a total of 84,321 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr.Bharat Khodabhai Boghara secured 75,044 votes. Independent candidate Rajpara Maganbhai Jadavbhai secured 1,492 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 50.6%, 45.1% and 0.9% respectively.
