Addressing a press conference, chief election commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar said “First phase of Assembly elections in Gujarat to be held on 1st December & second phase on 5th December; counting of votes to be done on 8th December.”
"The date of counting for Gujarat Assembly polls will coincide with Himachal Pradesh on the 8th of December. The entire process of Assembly elections to be completed on the 10th of December," Kumar added.
A total of 51,782 polling stations will be set up across Gujarat. Of these, 1,274 will be managed by women polling and security personnel.
89 seats to go into voting in phase one, 93 seats in phase two
Eighty-nine seats will go into voting in phase 1 of Gujarat Elections on December 1. On the other hand, 93 seats will go into voting in second and final phase on December 5. Counting of votes will be on December 8.
