Udharbond is the assembly constituency which comes under the Cachar district. It is one of the 126 Assam Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Assam Assembly Election 2021 for Udharbond was held on April 1 and the result was declared on May 2.
Udharbond assembly constituency had 1,40,607 electors in 2016, out of which 73,565 were male voters and 67,042 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 1.2% votes.
In 2016, 6 candidates were contesting for Udharbond assembly constituency seat. Udharbond was one of 60 seats won by the Indian National Congress. Bharatiya Janta Party's Mihir Kanti Shome won the election by defeating Indian National Congress's Ajit Singh by a margin of 8,606 votes.
90.4% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Bharatiya Janta Party's Mihir Kanti Shome got a total of 54,204 votes, while Indian National Congress's Ajit Singh got 45,598 votes. All India United Democratic Front's candidate Liakat Ali Laskar grabbed 8,715 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 49.1%, 41.3% and 7.9% respectively.
In Assam Assembly election 2011, Indian National Congress's Ajit Singh defeated independent candidate Surendra Prasad Sinha by 44,435 votes.
