In 2016, the Kokrajhar West assembly seat had 1,59,496 registered voters. Of the, 82,533 were male and 76,963 were female voters. 0.8% of votes were casted for NOTA.

Bodaland Peoples Front's Rabiram Narzary got a total of 64,423 votes, while All India United Democratic Front's Dahit Chandra Brahma secured 47,083 votes. Independent candidate Urkhao Gwra Brahma grabbed the third spot with 18,629 votes. The top three parties got 46.1%, 33.7% and 13.3% respectively.
In Assam Assembly election 2011, Bodaland Peoples Front's Pradip Kumar Brahma outperformed independent candidate Urkhao Gwra Brahma by 31,503 votes.
