Kaliabor is the assembly constituency which comes under the Nagaon district. It is one of the 126 Assam Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Assam Assembly Election 2021 for Kaliabor was held on March 27 and the result was declared on May 2.
In 2016, the Kaliabor assembly seat had 1,21,292 registered voters. Of the, 62,412 were male and 58,880 were female voters. 1.3% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In the 2016 Assam Legislative Assembly Election, there were 9 candidates in the fray from Kaliabor constituency. Kaliabor was one of 14 seats won by the Indian National Congress. It was a one way contest with Asom Gana Parisad's Keshab Mahanta comfortably winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Bindu Ganju by a huge margin of 37,990 votes.
The top two candidates split 89.1% of votes between them. Asom Gana Parisad's Keshab Mahanta got a total of 64,759 votes, while Indian National Congress's Bindu Ganju secured 26,769 votes. Independent candidate Boloram Nag secured 3,682 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 63.0%, 26.0% and 3.6% respectively.
In Assam Assembly election 2011, Asom Gana Parisad's Keshab Mahanta defeated Indian National Congress's Tapan Borah by 9,029 votes.
