Independent candidate Hemanta Talukdar grabbed 12,397 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 64.8%, 20.7% and 6.1% respectively.
In Assam Assembly election 2011, Indian National Congress's Hementa Talukdar. defeated Bharatiya Janta Party's Manoj Ram Phookan. by 11,326 votes.
