Dhing is one of the 126 Assam Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Nagaon district. People of Dhing voted for Assam Assembly Election 2021 on March 27 and the result was declared on May 2.
Dhing assembly constituency had 1,88,167 electors in 2016, out of which 99,026 were male voters and 89,141 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.7% votes.
In the 2016 Assam Legislative Assembly Election, there were 9 candidates in the fray from Dhing constituency. Dhing was one of 13 seats won by the Indian National Congress. All India United Democratic Front's Aminul Islam won the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Anwar Hussain by a margin of 24,553 votes.
The top three candidates split 92.4% of votes between them. All India United Democratic Front's Aminul Islam secured a total of 82,786 votes, while Indian National Congress's Anwar Hussain got 58,233 votes. Independent candidate Muzibur Rahman bagged 17,807 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 48.2%, 33.9% and 10.4% respectively.
In Assam Assembly election 2011, All India United Democratic Front's Aminul Islam beat Indian National Congress's Dr. Idris Ali by 19,172 votes.
