What makes people flourish | Number Theory
.
While humans have always been interested in well-being or happiness , scientific research into this is relatively recent, and global awareness around it even more so. One example of this is the World Happiness Report, which has been published since 2012 by a group of organisations – including the University of Oxford, Gallup, and the UN . A new survey – the Global Flourishing Study (GFS) – aims to expand on this work by generating panel data, so that same people can be followed over time; and by providing a broader range of assessments. The results from the first wave of GFS – it covered over 200,000 people in 22 countries across six populated continents – were published on April 30 in a paper in the Nature Mental Health journal. Here is what the paper shows.
