Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner Shah Rukh Khan seems to have got over his team’s 102 run loss against the Mumbai Indians (MI) which had even prompted the Bollywood star to apologise to the fans.

The reason for King Khan’s change in mood was KKR’s victory over the high-flying Kings XI Punjab in Indore, where the Kolkata based franchise recorded its highest ever total in the Indian Premier League, only two days after the MI loss.

Shah Rukh posted a smiling picture on social media, acknowledging KKR’s captain Dinesh Karthik’s advice.

Sunil Narine had hit a 36-ball 75 while Karthik smashed a half-century off just 23 balls to lift KKR to 245 for six, eventually securing a 31-run win over KXIP to move fourth in the table with 12 points in the bag.

KKR host Rajasthan Royals at Eden Gardens on Tuesday in the penultimate game of their league phase and will need a victory against the Royals, who are also on 12 points. A win for either side will give them an advantage in the race for the remaining two play-off spots.
Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings have already booked their place in the top-four.
