Virender Sehwag calls Sachin Tendulkar ‘God ji’, Master gives epic reply
Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar, once India’s most efficient openers, were involved in a friendly banter on Twitter regarding the latter’s God-like status
Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar – two names that Indian cricket fans love to idolise. While the former was explosive and entertaining, the latter’s determination and discipline inspired a generation of cricketers.

Both have a glorious record together in ODIs – in 114 innings they have scored 4387 runs in partnerships – seventh highest in ODI history. Sehwag and Tendulkar’s partnership includes 13 100-plus stands and 18 50-plus stands. Their highest stand is of 182 for the first wicket.
While Tendulkar went on to become the first cricketer to score 100 international centuries, Sehwag was the first Indian to score a triple ton in Tests. Both along with Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid to form the legendary quartet of Indian team that kept the world in awe.
Tendulkar’s over-empowering statistics led to fans calling him ‘God’ even after three-and-half years of retiring. And Sehwag, whose batting stance was very similar to that of Tendulkar, wholeheartedly agrees to the fact. He recently posted a photo of him with the maestro and expressed his gratitude over the ‘Darshan’.
“God ji ke Darshan in Delhi. @sachin_rt,” Sehwag wrote.
The quality of the picture was not good and Tendulkar gave Sehwag a taste of his own medicine – that is to troll people in the most satirical way, with a better image of them together
“Arre @virendersehwag, thodi der ruk jata to yeh photo use karleta :-) always a joy to meet you!,” Sachin wrote.
Sehwag took the reply sportingly and admitted to another trait of his – always being in a hurry - be it scoring runs on the field or being the most eager one to tweet about almost anything under the sky.
“Hahaha ! Hamesha se hi jaldi me raha hoon God ji :) Pleasure is always of the one who gets to meet you @sachin_rt,” Sehwag wrote.
With 15921 Test runs and 18426 ODI runs, Tendulkar is the highest ever run-score in international cricket. Sehwag on the hand has scored 8586 runs in Tests and 8273 runs in ODIs.
