Shahbaz Ahmed joins Sunrisers Hyderabad from RCB; Mayank Dagar traded to Bangalore
Shahbaz Ahamad has joined Sunrisers Hyderabad from RCB while Mayank Dagar is traded to Bangalore.
Shahbaz Ahmed found a new home in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as the all-rounder has left Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) ahead of the mini-auction for season 2024. The Indian all-rounder has been traded to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) from the Bangalore-based franchise. RCB and SRH have reached a deal involving two Indian players on the deadline day as the trade window will be shut on Sunday.
Shahbaz has featured in 39 games of the cash-rich league. He made his debut against former champions Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in 2020. The 28-year-old scored 321 runs and has 14 wickets under his belt. The left-arm spinner has played for RCB since 2020. He was earlier bought back by RCB for ₹2.4 crore at the IPL mega auction.
Shahbaz Ahmed heading to SRH on his existing fee
RCB had to beat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in a bidding war to sign Shahbaz at the time. Ahmed has also played 5 international matches for India. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut against South Africa at the JSCA International Stadium Complex last year. He has been traded to SRH on his existing fee. The former RCB star scored 42 runs in 10 matches last season.
Mayank Dagar joins RCB from SRH
While Shahbaz has left RCB ahead of the auction, Bangalore have signed Mayank Dagar from SRH in a trade deal. Dagar will play for RCB on his existing fee. He has also played for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the world's richest T20 league. Mayank featured in three games and bagged one wicket last season. All-rounder Dagar was sold to SRH for INR 1.80 crore at the IPL 2023 auction.
