Day 3 saw one of the best spells of bowling in a day of Test cricket. Yasir Shah was at his absolute best as he picked up 7 wickets in a matter of 27 balls and ended up with figures of 8 wickets for 41 runs. New Zealand were shot out for 90 after being 50/0 at one stage. Sarfraz Ahmed asked the visitors to follow on and the batsmen put in a much more dogged approach in the second innings, as New Zealand ended Day 3 on 131 for 2. They still trail Pakistan by 197 runs.
