Karun Nair continues to re-write history books, smashes 4th consecutive List A ton in Vijay Hazare Trophy

Karun Nair, known for his 303-run knock against England in Chennai, is setting the Vijay Hazare Trophy ablaze and setting new records left, right and centre. The right-handed batter broke the world record for registering most List-A runs without being dismissed and now he has guided Vidarbha to the semi-finals of the premier domestic 50-over tournament.
Karun Kair extended his purple patch as he registered his fourth consecutive century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy during Vidarbha's quarter-final clash against Rajasthan on Sunday at the Motibaug Cricket Ground.
The right-handed batter reached his fourth hundred in consecutive innings off only 77 balls. He is now the third Indian and the fifth batter overall to achieve the milestone in List A cricket.
The 33-year-old earlier broke the record for registering the most List-A runs without being dismissed when he guided Vidarbha to a victory over Uttar Pradesh in the premier domestic 50-over tournament.
As a result, he broke the record of former New Zealand allrounder James Franklin, who had managed 527 runs in 2010 without getting out. The other prominent names who feature in the list are Germany's Joshua van Heerden (512), Pakistan's Fakhar Zaman (455), and Taufeeq Umar (422).
During the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, Karun Nair's scores against Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, and Jammu and Kashmir have been 122*, 112*, 111*, 163*, 44*, and 112*, respectively.
Karun Nair has five hundreds
Karun Nair has so far smashed five hundreds in the ongoing 50-over tournament. His century against Rajasthan was his fourth ton in a row.
Nair began the Vijay Hazare Trophy by blasting 112 off 108 balls against Jammu and Kashmir. He followed it up with an unbeaten 44 in a small chase against Chhattisgarh.
The right-handed batter then registered his season-high 168 not out against Chandigarh. He then registered yet another unbeaten century - 111 against Tamil Nadu.
Karun Nair's smashing performance has helped Vidarbha move to the semi-finals of the ongoing tournament.
Vidarbha will now face Maharashtra in the semi-final on Thursday, January 16 at the Vadodara International Cricket Stadium.
