All of that has led to MI's new captain being rejected by a neutral crowd in Hyderabad and, judging by the reaction online for now, their own fans. It is a timely reminder that fans, probably the most ignored commodity in Indian cricket, should not be ignored. But reminders are useless if they fall on deaf ears so let's hope someone is listening this time.
