Imran Tahir for injured Mitchell Marsh in Rising Pune Supergiant’s IPL 2017 squad
Imran Tahir was added to the Rising Pune Supergiant squad after a shoulder injury ruled Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh out of IPL 2017.
Rising Pune Supergiant have brought in South Africa spinner Imran Tahir as replacement for the injured Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh ahead of the 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL).

Marsh rounder was ruled out of this year’s competition after he injured his left shoulder during the second Test against India in Bengaluru.

In spite of holding the top bowling spots in both the ODIs and T20s in the ICC rankings, Imran Tahir failed to attract any buyer in this year’s IPL auction which was held on February 20.
Imran Tahir was picked by the Rising Pune Supergiant from the registered available player pool list (RAPP) list. As per the player regulations, RPS is allowed to pick any player from the RAPP list if a foreign player of their team is ruled out of the competition.
Imran Tahir had earlier represented Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2016.
“Australia and Rising Pune Supergiant all-rounder Mitchell Marsh was ruled out of the 10th edition of the VIVO IPL owing to a shoulder injury. As Marsh’s replacement, the franchise have roped in South Africa leg-spinner Imran Tahir into the squad,” the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a statement.
“Tahir, who was unsold in the 2017 VIVO IPL Player Auction is from the registered available player pool list (RAPP list). As per the player regulations, RPS is allowed the replacement player from the RAPP list.”
The cash-rich Indian Premier League will be played from April 5 to May 21.
