India vs Australia: Rohit Sharma joins MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli in elite list
Rohit Sharma become the ninth Indian cricket team player to reach 8000 runs after Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Sourav Ganguly and Mohammad Azharuddin.
Rohit Sharma added another major milestone to his name as he became the joint third fastest to reach 8000 ODI runs during the series decider against Australia in New Delhi on Wednesday. The Indian cricket team opener achieved the feat on his 200th ODI innings and is tied with former India skipper Sourav Ganguly.
Virat Kohli was the fastest with 175 innings while AB De Villers is second with 182.

Overall, he become the ninth Indian cricket team player to reach 8000 runs after Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Sourav Ganguly and Mohammad Azharuddin.
Rohit played the Australia bowlers well and he was able to bring up his 41st half century.
In the fourth ODI in Mohali, Rohit completed 3000 ODI runs on home soil and also became the joint fastest to reach achieve the feat along with South Africa’s Hashim Amla (57 innings). Next in the list is Kohli with 63 innings.
Earlier, Usman Khawaja struck his second century of the series to lead Australia to 272-9.

The in-form Khawaja made 100 off 106 deliveries as Australia put up a competitive total after electing to bat first at Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla ground. Australia were cruising at 175-1 when Indian bowlers struck back. Bhuvneshwar Kumar claimed three wickets while fellow paceman Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja took two each.
