India vs Australia Highlights 3rd Test, Day 2: Nathan Lyon scalps 8, IND all-out for 163 as AUS need 76 to win

Todd Murphy concedes four runs in his over as India move to 132/6.

Cheteshwar Pujara then goes to complete his half-century in the next over by Matt Kuhnemann.

Kuhnemann starts with a maiden over and Australia also bring in Todd Murphy from the opposite end. 

Interesting move by Steve Smith, getting new bowlers from both ends. IND: 128/6, lead by 40 runs

Ashwin and Pujara combine to get a single each in Nathan Lyon's over as IND reach 128/6, lead by 40 runs. 

Matt Kuhnemann is reintroduced into the attack.

Starc pitches it full, outside off and Ashwin drives it square of the wicket, slightly wide off point for a boundary.

Five runs come in the over. IND: 126/6, lead by 38 runs

Nathan Lyon picks his fourth wicket of the innings as he cleans up KS Bharat for 3. Meanwhile, India find themselves in deep trouble despite Cheteshwar Pujara standing firm in the middle. 

R Ashwin is the new batter in the middle. IND: 121/6, lead by 33 runs

Nathan Lyon applies some brakes as he concedes two runs. 

Meanwhile, Australia switch to pace as Mitchell Starc is reintroduced into the attack. He delivers straightaway as Usman Khawaja takes a sharp catch at short mid-wicket to remove Iyer on 26. IND: 113/5, lead by 25 runs

Another boundary as Matt Kuhnemann bowls it slightly short. Shreyas Iyer uses the depth of the crease and plays it past the mid-on fielder for a boundary.

Shreyas Iyer hits the spinner for a six. He bowls another short delivery, which is smashed towards the mid-wicket region for a maximum.

Ten runs come off the over as IND reach 112-4. The hosts extend their lead to 24 runs.

Shreyas Iyer hits Nathan Lyon for two boundaries, although not in a very convincing way but India won't mind as long as the runs come in. 

10 runs come off the over as India cross 100. IND: 101-4, lead by 13 runs

A good over from India's perspective as Pujara hits Kuhnemann for a boundary square off the wicket. He then passes the strike to Shreyas Iyer, who hits the spinner for a six over the mid-wicket region. 11 runs come off the over as India are in the lead. IND: 91-4, lead by 3 runs

The players are back on the field as the final session is underway. Nathan Lyon leads the attack for the visitors and he starts with a one run over. IND: 80/4, trail by 8 runs

Matt Kuhnemann concedes a single in the final over before tea as India reach 79/4. They trail by 9 runs. Cheteshwar Pujara holds the key as he is batting on 36. Shreyas Iyer is batting alongside him and is yet to open his account.

Nathan Lyon strikes and Ravindra Jadeja's resistance comes to an end. He is trapped LBW for 7 as India are reduced to 78/4. The hosts still trail by 10 runs.

Jadeja and Pujara have kept things moving for India as the pair have added 23 runs. India reach 75/3 and are now trailing by 11 runs.

Todd Murphy takes both the batter and the wicketkeeper by surprise as the ball bounces way above it was expected. It brushes Alex Carey's gloves on its way before the fielder collects it in the third man region. Two runs come in the form of byes. 

Meanwhile, Jadeja almost throws away his wicket against Lyon. He hits it straight towards short cover, but the ball lands just wide of the fielder. IND: 73/3, trail by 15 runs

Pujara is showing good intent as he hits Kuhnemann for two fours. 10 runs come off his over as India reach 69/3, trail by 19 runs.

Slightly short by Nathan Lyon as Pujara goes on the backfoot and smashes the ball square of the wicket to complete three runs. Earlier both he and Jadeja had completed a single each as five runs come from the over. IND: 59/3, trail by 29 runs

Todd Murphy concedes a single as India reach 50. 

Kohli then is once again surprised by the uneven bounce in the next over by Kuhnemann as the ball hits his gloves and falls short of the close in fielder. He immediately calls for physio.

Kohli then hits the spinner for a four towards cover but is dismissed in the next ball. He departs for 13 as India are reduced to 54/3. The hosts are still trailing by 34 runs.  

Pujara and Kohli keep rotating the strike as India reach 49/2. The hosts are trailing by another by 39 runs.

Change of ends for Matthew Kuhnemann and he almost gets Virat Kohli, who is surprised by the bounce. Kohli gets enough bat on it as the ball flies over the slip fielder and races towards the boundary ropes. Seven runs come off the over as IND reach 44/2. The hosts trail by another 44 runs.

Lyon bowls it slightly short as Pujara goes on his backfoot and gently guides the ball wide off the short fine leg fielder for a boundary.

He is then dropped by Peter Handscomb at short leg. It was a tough chance but not an impossible one. 

Meanwhile, Todd Murphy continues from the opposite end and bowls another maiden. This is his third maiden on the trot. IND: 37/2, trail by 51 runs

Todd Murphy, who has dismissed Kohli thrice in the series, starts with a maiden over against the former India captain. IND: 33/2, trail by 55 runs

Nathan Lyon picks his second wicket as India find themselves in a spot of bother. Rohit Sharma is trapped LBW for 12 as India are reduced to 32/2 in the second innings. The hosts still trail by 56 runs as Virat Kohli walks in.

Pujara is once again beaten as a flighted ball by Nathan Lyon passes close to his outside edge before settling in Alex Carey's gloves. He quickly dislodges the bail as leg umpire sends it upstairs. TV replay confirm Pujara never left the crease. 

One ball later, Pujara whacks a short ball by the spinner for a boundary towards the cover region. Five runs come off the over. IND: 30/1, trail by 58 runs 

A decent over by Nathan Lyon as he concedes a couple of singles. 

Kuhnemann continues from the other end. He starts with three dots, with the third ball passing close to Pujara's outside edge. One run come off his over as IND: 25/1, trail by 63 runs

Matt Kuhnemann concedes three runs in his over as India move to 22/1 after 10 overs. The hosts are trailing by 66 runs.

The Aussies are keeping things tight with Nathan Lyon and Kuhnemann constantly beating both Rohit and Pujara. 

Three runs come in the last three overs as India reach 19/1, trail by 69 runs.

Australia start with spin from both ends as Matt Kuhnemann bowls from the other end. He starts with a one run over as India reach 16/1. 

Nathan Lyon leads the Aussie attack in the afternoon session and he injects a blow straightaway. 

Shubman Gill charges down the track but doesn't make any connection as the ball passes through the gap between his bat and pads, knocking the middle stump on its way. He departs for 5(15). 

IND: 15/1, trail by 73 runs.

That'll be Lunch on Day 2 as two singles come off the final over by Matt Kuhnemann. Rohit Sharma (5), Shubman Gill (4*) take India to 13/0 after packing Australia for 197 earlier in the day. India are trailing by 75 runs.

Matt Kuhnemann is introduced from the other end as Shubman Gill takes a single in the final delivery. 

Starc continues from the opposite end as two runs come off it. IND: 11/0, trail by 77 runs

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill walk out in the middle to start the second innings. 

The innings starts with a boundary, which comes in the form of leg byes. With the bat both Rohit scores 3, while Gill scores 1 as 8 runs come off the over. IND: 8/0, trail by 80 runs

Ashwin cleans up Nathan Lyon to wrap the Australian first innings for 197. The visitors have a healthy lead of 88 runs and India will have to produce a superb show with the bat to get themselves back in the contest. 

Ashwin and Umesh injects the blow on Day 2 as the duo scalp three wickets each.

Too good, just too good. Umesh Yadav produces yet another beauty to get rid of Todd Murphy. A similar sort of delivery like Starc, the length was slightly different but the outcome remains the same. The off-stump once again goes cartwheeling behind as Todd Murphy departs for 0. AUS: 197/9, lead by 88 runs

What a delivery by Umesh Yadav as he sends the off-stump cartwheeling. This is also Umesh's 100th wicket in India. The delivery was a peach, just too good for Starc as the ball angled towards him and beats his outside edge and knocks the stump on it's way. Starc departs for 1.

The next over Ashwin gets rid of Alex Carey, who is trapped LBW for 3. He opts for a review but TV replay confirms it was clear out so Australia also lose a review. 

AUS: 196/8, lead by 87 runs

Umesh Yadav is introduced into the attack and the veteran pacer strikes in his first over. He traps Cameron Green LBW for 21(57). 

Green had opted for a review and going by the TV replay we can say it was slightly harsh on the batter. 

Everything was fine but the ball was brushing the bails as per the replay and TV umpire asks the on field umpire to stick to his decision. 

Australia don't lose the review as it's umpires call. 

Ashwin then bowls a three-run over. AUS: 191/6, lead by 82 runs

Ashwin provides India with the first breakthrough on Day 2. Peter Handscomb departs for 19 (98) as he tries to defend, but gets an edge which flies straight to Shreyas Iyer at short leg. AUS: 186/5, lead by 77 runs

We are done with one hour of play on Day 2 and it has been Australia, who has been dominating the proceedings. They add 30 runs to their overnight score of 156/4, with Cameron Green and Peter Handscomb comfortably tackling Jadeja. The tourists lead by 77 runs. 

Jadeja oversteps yet again, first no ball of the day. Surprisingly, overstepping has been a problem among the Indian bowlers in this innings. AUS: 179/4

Another tight over by Axar as just one run come off it. 

Meanwhile, Peter Handscomb welcomes Jadeja with a boundary as five runs come off his over. AUS: 178/4, lead by 69 runs

Axar Patel bowls a maiden over, following which Jadeja continues from the other end. 

Green charges down the track in the final ball and connects it well enough to send the ball over mid-on for a boundary. AUS: 171-4, lead by 63 runs
