Mirzapur Election Results 2019 : Will Apna Dal win in this UP constituency again?
Uttar Pradesh, which sends the maximum number of members to Parliament at 80, will go to polls in all the seven phases of the Lok Sabha election 2019. Votes will be counted on May 23.
The Mirzapur parliamentary constituency is one of the two Lok Sabha seats where National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ally Apna Dal was successful in the general election in 2014.

Apna Dal’s Anupriya Patel, also a Union Minister, represents the Mirzapur Lok Sabha seat in Parliament. Patel is currently leading after the initial counting.
The Congress has won five times, Samajwadi Party four times, Bharatiya Janata Party twice, the last time in 1998, and the Bahujan Samaj Party has also been successful twice since elections held in 1957. The Congress party, once dominant on the Mirzapur seat has not won an election after 1984.
Former bandit and Samajwadi Party leader Phoolan Devi had contested the Lok Sabha election in 1999 successfully from Mirzapur.
There are five assembly constituencies — Chhanbey(SC), Mirzapur, Majhawan, Chunar, Marihan — under Mirzapur, where Kurmis are the dominant community. Nishad, a Scheduled Caste community, Binds are also influential.
