Lok Sabha 2019 constituency: Trinamool will aim to keep Cooch Behar seat
Partha Pratim Ray of the Trinamool Congress is the sitting member of Parliament from the Cooch Behar Lok Sabha seat, once a stronghold of the All India Forward Bloc.
Cooch Behar is one of the 42 Lok Sabha constituencies in West Bengal and reserved for members of the Scheduled Caste communities.
Partha Pratim Ray of the Trinamool Congress is the sitting member of Parliament from the Cooch Behar Lok Sabha seat, once a stronghold of the All India Forward Bloc. Ray had won the seat after a bypoll in 2016 as he defeated his nearest rival Hem Chandra Barman of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Cooch Behar seat fell vacant after the death of Trinamool’s Renuka Sinha in August 2016.

Paresh Chandra Adhikari will contest from the Coach Behar seat in the Lok Sabha election 2019.
Polling will be held on April 11, the first of the seven-phased election, and votes will be counted on May 23.
