Lok Sabha 2019 constituency: Trinamool’s Dinesh Trivedi aims to get third term from Barrackpore
Polling will be held during the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha election 2019 on May 6. The votes will be counted on May 23.
Once the bastion of the Communist Party of India(Marxist), the Barrackpore Lok Sabha seat is one of the 42 parliamentary constituencies in West Bengal.

Veteran Trinamool Congress leader Dinesh Trivedi broke the CPI(M) hold over Barrackpore in 2009 when he beat the Left party’s candidate Tarit Baran Topdar by a little over 56,000 votes. Topdar had won the seat since 1989.
Dinesh Trivedi, the former railways minister, won again in the 2014 Lok Sabha election against Subhashini Ali of the CPI(M).
Trivedi will fight again from the Barrackpore seat in the Lok Sabha election 2019.
