Lok Sabha 2019 constituency: Srerampur has been under Trinamool since 2009

Srerampur will vote on May 6 during the fifth round of the seven-phased election. The votes will be counted on May 23.

Srerampur parliamentary constituency in West Bengal has been under the Trinamool Congress since 1998, except for one term from 2004 when the CPI(M) candidate won.

Akbar Ali Khandoker of the Trinamool won the seat in the Lok Sabha election in 1998 against the Communist Party of India(Marxist) leader Sudarsan Roy Chowdhury.

Santasri Chatterjee of the CPI(M) defeated Khandoker in the 2004 Lok Sabha election and held the Srerampore general seat till 2009. Kalyan Banerjee has been the sitting member of Parliament from Srerampore twice since 2009.

The Trinamool Congress has nominated Kalyan Banerjee for the Lok Sabha election 2019.

Srerampur will vote on May 6 during the fifth round of the seven-phased election. The votes will be counted on May 23.
