The Congress party has won ten elections from the Dausa Lok Sabha seat since elections were first held in 1952. Congress leader Rajesh Pilot won the seat for the first time in 1984 and represented it in the Lok Sabha from 1991 to 1999. His wife Rama Pilot won the by-poll held after his death in 2000.
In the 2004 Lok Sabha election, Rajesh Pilot’s son Sachin Pilot, the Congress Rajasthan unit chief, bagged the seat in 2004. Independent candidate Kirodilal Meena contested successfully from the seat in 2009 but lost to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Harish Chandra Meena in 2014.
