Lok Sabha 2019 constituency: Close expected fight in Jharkhand’s Godda seat
The parliamentary constituency of Godda has been won by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) since 1996, except in 2004 when the Congress’ Furkan Ansari was successful.
The Godda Lok Sabha seat is one of the 14 parliamentary constituencies in Jharkhand and covers the Godda district and parts of Deoghar and Dumka districts.
The assembly segments of Madhupur, Deoghar, Jarmundi, Poreyahat, Godda and Mahagama come under the Godda seat with a sizeable Muslim population as well.
The parliamentary constituency of Godda has been won by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) since 1996, except in 2004 when the Congress’ Furkan Ansari was successful. The BJP’s Nishikant Dubey has been representing the Godda Lok Sabha since 2009.
Polling in Jharkhand will be held in four phases from April 29 to May 19. Votes will be counted on May 23.
