Lok Sabha 2019 constituency: Abhishek Banerjee, Mamata Banerjee’s nephew, will look to win Diamond Harbour again

Diamond Harbour is one of 42 parliamentary constituencies in West Bengal and represents the city of Diamond Harbour in the South 24 Parganas district.

The sitting member of Parliament is Trinamool Congress’ Abhishek Banerjee, the second leader of the ruling party to have held the Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha seat.
Somendra Nath Mitra won the seat for the ruling party in the 2009 Lok Sabha election before Abhishek Banerjee, the nephew of West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee. Mitra defeated Communist Party of India(Marxist) leader Samik Lahiri by 151,689 votes.
Abhishek Banerjee will contest again from the Diamond Harbour seat in the Lok Sabha election 2019.
