Want to share feedback on public toilets in Ludhiana? Just press a button
With Swachh Survekshan around the corner, the Ludhiana municipal corporation (MC) has installed online feedback devices at 12 public toilets in the city.

The system has been set up to keep a check on cleanliness at public toilets.
The users have been given three buttons — clean, dirty and normal (usable) — one of which they can press to register their feedback.
The device is attached with an online server with the help of which, the authorities would be able to collect the feedback sitting in the offices and directions would be given to the Sulabh staff for improvement.
As per the information, the feedback devices have currently been installed at a dozen of sites, including public toilets near Dholewal Chowk (close to Pheruman gurdwara), Cheema Chowk, Rose Garden, in and around Rakh Bagh, Bharat Nagar Chowk, Division Number 3 Chowk and Guru Nanak Stadium.
People had been complaining against dirty and poorly maintained public toilets for long. Even the authorities feared that filthy condition of public washrooms might affect the city’s ranking in the cleanliness survey, which would start in the first week of January.
In December-mid, the civic body had also installed sanitary napkin vending machines at these public toilets.
Women users can get three napkins for ₹10. These toilets are also equipped with incinerators to dispose of the used napkins.
While the sanitary napkin vending machines have been installed under a corporate social responsibility (CSR) exercise, the feedback system has been launched through Swachh Bharat funds which the civic body has received from the central and state governments.
