SPPU raises earn and learn scheme stipend to ₹55 per hour
The Savitribai Phule Pune University has formed a committee to review and improve the earn and learn scheme, and has increased the stipend from ₹45 to ₹55 per hour.
The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has established a committee to determine the scope of the earn and learn scheme. The panel members will work on better implementation of the scheme for the benefit of students.
On Wednesday, a decision was taken in the management council of the university to increase the stipend of the earn and learn scheme of the university from ₹45 per hour to ₹55.
Also, a committee was formed under the chairmanship of Devidas Waydande, senate member, to determine the scope and nature of the scheme.
In the committee senate members Bageshree Manthalkar, DB Pawar and Rahul Pakhere are included.
Waydande said, “A committee has been formed in the management council of the university to make necessary changes in the earn-and-learn scheme. This scheme will be reviewed again.”
Dadabhau Shinlkar, SPPU senate member, said, “We are satisfied that the demand for an increase in salary of earn and learn scheme has been accepted belatedly. However, the decision taken by the university is not being implemented quickly. Therefore, the university administration had to be warned to protest. Now action should be taken to pay the stipend hike immediately.”
