Small Scale Industries oppose toll collection at Moshi
The forum claims apart from dealing with constant traffic delays, the traders will have to bear the toll as well
The forum of the Small-Scale Industries from Pimpri-Chinchwad has written a letter to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde requesting not to start toll collection at Moshi considering entrepreneurs’ interests. The forum claims apart from dealing with constant traffic delays, the traders will have to bear the toll as well.

Abhay Bhor, president of the forum of small-scale industries said, “The reopening of the toll booth at Moshi on the Pune Nashik highway will add to the traffic congestion. Entrepreneurs are showing strong disapproval about the proposal.”
“As road development work is going on at Chakan, everyday entrepreneurs and employees are already facing a lot of traffic snarls. We have written a letter to the Chief Minister outlining the issues that the toll booth will cause and have asked him not to start collecting tolls in Moshi,” Bhor added.
The state government’s Public Work Department (PWD) closed the Moshi toll booth on October 8, 2021, and the toll booth was turned over to the NHAI.
The toll booth was supposed to reopen on January 1, but locals are opposed to it.
Anil Gorad, technical manager, of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) said, “The toll collection has not started at the Moshi as there is strong opposition from the locals. Toll collection maintenance has already been completed. We haven’t decided when the toll booth will reopen.”
