12 Aapla Davakhanas to start in Pune district

Twelve new health clinics have been established in Pune district in western India as part of a state-wide initiative to improve healthcare infrastructure. The clinics, named after Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray, are being opened virtually on 1 May. They are equipped with an outpatient department, free medicines, free laboratory testing, facilities for pregnant women, vaccination, eye checking, referrals to specialists and a counselling centre for mental health. Ten of the clinics are in Pune rural, with the other two in the Pune Municipal Corporation and the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.
