A joint team of Bihar and Gujarat Police on Wednesday arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly threatening to “blow up” Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar’s residence. Ankit Kumar Mishra was being interrogated to know why he made the threat call.

Patna’s senior police superintendent Rajiv Mishra said the suspect was arrested from Laskana in Gujarat’s Surat. A complaint was lodged in Patna on March 20 about the threat.
A Special Investigation Team was subsequently formed to probe the matter. Mishra was identified and traced to Surat. A native of Bihar’s Vaishali district, Mishra will be produced before a Surat court for transit remand and then taken to Bihar.
In 2018, one Pramod Kumar was arrested from Patna for threatening to kill Kumar. Kumar also got a death threat through an SMS in 2015.
