IIITDM Jabalpur BTech student detained for filming her senior in hostel bathroom
Acting on a complaint, the hostel warden checked the mobile phones of all girl inmates, and found some objectionable videos recorded by the 2nd year student.
An engineering student of Indian Institute of Information Technology and Design Manufacturing's (IIITDM) Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh was reportedly detained by police on Monday on allegations of filming her senior roommate in the bathroom of the institute's hostel.

The accused student, pursuing BTech, was detained after a fourth year student of the same course complained to the institute about the suspected involvement of the junior on Sunday night, PTI news agency quoted police as saying.
"A girl student of BTech second year of Pandit Dwarka Prasad Mishra Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design & Manufacturing has been detained after she was accused of filming her roommate in the bathroom of the institute's hostel," the report quoted Additional Superintendent of Police Suryakant Sharma.
Acting on the complaint, the hostel warden checked the mobile phones of all girl inmates, and found some objectionable videos recorded by the second year student, officials said.
The student was being questioned, the officer said, adding that an FIR will be filed accordingly.
What students alleged
Some students at the institute filed a complaint at the Dumna police outpost, alleging that a second-year female student was recording videos of her roommate in the bathroom, according to Sharma.
Aparajita Ojha, the in-charge director of PDPM IIITDM, said that the institute had formed a three-member committee of professors to investigate the accusations against the second-year student.
She said that the authorities received a complaint on Sunday night from a fourth-year B-Tech student, who suspected the junior student was involved in filming her videos in the bathroom.
"Upon receiving the complaint, the hostel warden immediately checked the mobile phones of all female inmates. During the inspection, one or two bathroom videos were discovered on the second-year student’s phone," Ojha added.
Dr Ojha stated that the committee is currently looking into the issue and appropriate action will be taken against the student. She also confirmed that the police had been notified.
