‘Check status, leave early’: Mumbai airport's advisory ahead of PM Modi's visit
Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Mumbai to inaugurate two Vande Bharat trains on Friday, the Mumbai airport issued an advisory for its passengers considering the traffic congestion.
Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Mumbai to inaugurate two Vande Bharat trains on Friday, the Mumbai airport issued an advisory for its passengers considering the traffic congestion. Informing passengers of the closure of roads “owing to the high-security measures due to the VVIP movement”, the airport advised all passengers to “check their flights and leave earlier”.

“Our Terminal Operations team have been kept on standby and will be assisting passengers whenever possible,” it said.

PM Modi will flag off the Mumbai-Solapur Vande Bharat Train and Mumbai-Sainagar Shirdi Vande Bharat Train at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) today. While the Mumbai-Solapur Vande Bharat Train will improve connectivity between Mumbai and Solapur and facilitate travel to important pilgrimage centers including Siddheshwar in Solapur, Akkalkot, Tuljapur, Pandharpur near Solapur and Alandi near Pune; the Mumbai-Sainagar Shirdi train will improve connectivity to Nashik and pilgrimage centers including Trimbakeshwar, Sainagar Shirdi and Shani Singanapur.
The PM is also set to inaugurate the new campus of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah (The Saifee Academy) at Marol in Mumbai. He will also inaugurate Vakola-Kurla and MTNL-LBS (Lal Bahadur Shastri) elevated corridor arms on Santacruz-Chembur Link Road - a key east-west corridor in the city, and a vehicular underpass at Kurar in the northern suburb of Malad.

In view of this, traffic on the Eastern Freeway and nearby roads in South Mumbai, and in the Marol and Andheri areas of the western suburbs will be diverted.
The traffic on the Eastern Freeway, P D'Mello Road, Shahid Bhagat Singh Marg, and roads leading to these arterial routes in the southern part of the metropolis will be regulated from 2.45 pm to 4.15 pm, while traffic on Al Jamea-Tus-Saifiyah road in Marol in the western suburb of Andheri would be regulated between 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm, reported PTI citing police officials.
