ODOP giving local products access to global market: Yogi Adityanath
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath also said that ODOP has brought respect to handicraftsmen of Uttar Pradesh at global level
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said that the one district one product (ODOP) programme was not only promoting products of every district, but also giving them a new design along with access to the global market.

It is the strength of ODOP that U.P. emerged as the biggest investment destination today, Yogi said at an award and toolkit distribution ceremony under Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana at Lok Bhavan in Lucknow.
“ODOP has become the backbone of the MSME sector of U.P. It has emerged as the foundation of self-reliant India in the whole country,” Yogi Adityanath further said.
He also said Uttar Pradesh will emerge as the torchbearer of the fourth industrial revolution (industrial revolution 4.0), adding that this was evident from investment proposals worth ₹35 lakh received at the Global Investors Summit held in Lucknow in February.
“MSME itself is going to become the foundation of industrial development of U.P. The Global Investors Summit has decided that U.P. will lead the fourth industrial revolution,” he said.
“The focal point of the state’s industrial development is its 96 lakh MSMEs (micro small and medium enterprises),” the chief minister said.
“The time has come now to open designing and packaging institutes in the state to take MSME products to a new level,” he added.
Yogi Adityanath also said that ODOP has brought respect to handicraftsmen of the state at global level. This is the reason that Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the hub of exports today, he said. Before 2017, exports were just ₹86,000 crore, which have now gone up to ₹2.5 lakh crore, the chief minister said.
He said there is a need to link banks with the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana, so that artisans can get financial help to expand their business. For this, meetings of artisans associated with Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana should be organised with bankers in every district of the state, he said.
Twelve people were awarded Sant Kabir State Handloom Award, 34 firms were given State Export Award, 20 people received MSME award and 75,000 artisans trained under Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana were given toolkits and certificates.
The chief minister gave toolkits to five people associated with the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana and the rest were distributed to artisans in their respective districts.
