: The second phase of the e-lottery for the allocation of liquor shops across Uttar Pradesh will take place today, March 27, in 61 districts. Successful licensees will also have the option to renew their licences for the year 2026-27.
The entire process was conducted online, with applicants required to submit all necessary documents and processing fees digitally (For representation only)
Under the Excise Policy for the year 2025-26, applications for the second phase of the e-lottery, covering 617 country liquor shops, composite shops, model shops, and retail cannabis shops, were accepted via the online portal from March 17 to March 24, till 5 pm.
A total of 6,918 applications have been submitted for 516 retail shops across the state, generating ₹35.15 crore in processing fees. The entire process was conducted online, with applicants required to submit all necessary documents and processing fees digitally. Any citizen of India who is above 21 years of age and who is not ineligible for any other reason could apply.
Speaking on the development, Uttar Pradesh excise commissioner Dr Adarsh Singh said, “We are fully prepared for the second phase of the e-lottery for 617 shops. The draw will be conducted in 61 districts, while all shops in the remaining 14 districts were successfully allocated in the first round.”
