Flood-like situation in Rajasthan amid heavy rainfall due to Cyclone Biparjoy

Several districts in Rajasthan, including Barmer, Jalore, Sirohi, Pali, and Rajmasand, have been hit by floods following excessive rainfall under the influence of cyclonic storm Biparjoy. Over 15,000 people have been evacuated from low-lying areas. The National Disaster Response Force rescued 133 people while 123 were saved by the State Disaster Response Force. Around 23 of 54 dams in Pali and 27 out of 29 in Sirohi have overflowed due to heavy rainfall. The affected families of the deceased will receive INR400,000 ($5,400) as compensation under SDRF norms.
