Gurugram: Police arrested three people, including a Nigerian woman, on Sunday for allegedly running a forgery racket in the National Capital Region (NCR), police said on Monday.

The arrested suspects were identified as Rahul (goes by first name), Sanjay Kumar and Christi — residents of Haryana’s Rohtak, Delhi’s Sarita Vihar and Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida.
They allegedly created forged Aadhaar cards for Nigerian nationals who primarily used the ID card to avail rented accommodations easily, and also to save money during treatments at private hospitals, said police.
Sube Singh, public relation officer (PRO) of Faridabad police, said, “A further investigation is underway to nab others involved in the operations.”
According to police, they have seized the forged seal of Faridabad (NIT) MLA Neeraj Sharma that was used in the crime, along with equipment for capturing biometrics to create Aadhaar cards. A laptop, a printer, and a machine used to prepare the ID cards were seized from the possession of the arrested suspects, said officials.
