Liquor prices in Gurugram to go up by over 10% from June 12

The Indian state of Haryana has raised excise duty on imported foreign liquor (IFL) and India-made foreign liquor (IMFL), resulting in price rises of 10-15% in Gurugram. The move is part of a new policy aimed at countering Delhi's excise policy. Haryana previously had a maximum retail price on liquor, but will only have a minimum retail price from 12 June, meaning liquor vends can sell at any price above the minimum without offering discounts.
