Gurugram: Five people were arrested for allegedly assaulting and abducting a Gurugram businessman on the night of June 23. They also allegedly robbed him of 250 RAMs and microprocessors which he purchased at Huda City Centre, police said on Monday.

According to police, the four accused men reached the spot in a car and one of them was wearing a Delhi police uniform to avoid suspicion and checking. They pushed the businessman out of the car a few kilometers away from the spot after abducting him and fled with the items and his mobile phone soon after.
The men contacted the businessman on June 21 to procure a few processors. After he delivered the said items, they contacted him for a second delivery on June 22. The business man was out to deliver the secod order to them when the incident happened.
On the businessman’ complaint, an FIR under Section 365, 392 and 394 of Indian penal code was registered against the suspects at Sector-40 police station on June 24, said police.
Suspects Govinda (24) and Lala (25) were arrested from Alwar in Rajasthan on Monday. Aavesh aka Avi (30), and Naveen aka Golu (27) are Delhi based traders who own computer shops at Johar Nagar. They were apprehended from Nehru place on Sunday. Apart from them, Javinder (31) was arrested from Sirsa on Saturday.
According to police, Jasvinder and Naveen were inmates in a jail in Alwar, where the latter was incarcerated for a power generator theft case. Both became friends and planned to begin to looting after coming out of jail.
Investigators said Aavesh was the one who knew and got in touch with the businessman and shared information with Naveen and Jasvinder.
Inspector Satish Kumar, station house officer (SHO), Sector-40 police station, said that Naveen paid ₹1500 to purchase a Delhi police’s uniform for Lala from a shop in GTB Nagar, a fortnight before the incident.
“Lala was the one who wore the uniform and reached Huda City Centre with Jasvinder, Govinda and Sikandar in a car with a forged registration number of Punjab. Sikandar is yet to be arrested,” he said.
The SHO also informed that Aavesh wanted to set up an online examination centre for which the loot was planned. “Aavesh and Naveen monitored the plan by staying away from the spot to avoid suspicion,” he said.
They sold the looted items to a businessman in Agra for ₹1.8 lakh and purchased 30 CPUs from Nehru place for ₹1.68 lakh.
The CPUs and the car used in the crime were seized by police. While Jasvinder is on a seven-day, the traders are on a four-day police remand for thorough interrogation. A police team will also visit Agra soon for recovering the looted items sold there.
