"Taking cognizance of the viral video on social media on December 10, in which a man and two women were dancing on the elevated road by blocking the public road, a case was registered at the police station in Kaushambi. A man was arrested and the car was impounded," the Ghaziabad Police tweeted in Hindi.

The elevated road in the city is said to be a popular spot for making social media reels. In the video in question, those involved were seen dancing on a Bollywood song for what was reported to be a birthday celebration.
Meanwhile, in another incident, the Ghaziabad Police on Sunday arrested a person for calling up an individual from a virtual number on a social messaging app and threatening to kill him if he did not pay ₹20 lakh. The accused - identified as Kapil Chaudhary alias Dharmendra - was held by a team of UP police from his residence in Hapur.

According to the police, the complainant - identified as Gaurav - had registered an FIR against an unidentified person at the Sahibabad police station, alleging that an unidentified caller from a virtual number threatened to kill him if he did not pay ₹20 lakh. Upon the complaint, the UP Police and cyber cell traced the number and found out that the 28-year-old caller is a repeat offender and had picked up online blackmailing from YouTube.
"Kapil demanded ₹20 lakh to pay the court's fee as several lawsuits were filed against him and his father," a police statement read, reported news agency ANI.
