Onion buffer stock released for Delhi’s Azadpur to control prices

The National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India (NCCF) will release its buffer stock of onions to the Azadpur mandi in an effort to control the recent increase in onion prices. The NCCF has procured 150,000 tonnes of onions from Maharashtra, while the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India has procured another 150,000 tonnes. The move comes as households are still recovering from a steep rise in tomato prices. The onions will be sold at current market prices, but if retail prices exceed INR50-60 per kg, they will be sold at subsidised rates.

2 held for raping minor in car after abduction near Faridabad school
