Two more suspected dengue deaths in Ludhiana

As of now, a total of 62 patients are admitted for at city hospitals for treatment, with the majority receiving care at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), Deep Hospital, Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital, and Vijayanand Hospital.

As dengue continues to spread its tentacles in the city, two more suspected deaths and 27 fresh cases have come to the fore. The city has already recorded seven other suspected deaths this month.

The victims are two women, aged 42 and 45, from Bahadur ke and Salem Tabri respectively.

Of the 27 new cases, 21 were reported from urban areas, affecting localities such as Haibowal Kalan, Salem Tabri, Bahadur Ke Road, Berry Colony, New Shivpuri, Azad Nagar, Rishi Nagar, Civil Lines, Rahon Road, Varinder Nagar, Kailash Nagar, New Kundan Puri, GT Road near Malhotra Resort, Tagore Nagar, Model Gram, and Kalyan Nagar. Rural regions also reported four new cases, with Manupur, Pakhowal, and Khanna City being affected.

Currently, Ludhiana has 62 active dengue cases, with 53 in urban areas and nine in rural areas. The tally of cases reported this season (since July) stands at 653.
