Payments of ₹10,182.23 crore of minimum support price (MSP) have been transferred directly into the accounts of nearly 2.75 lakh farmers, food civil supplies and consumer affairs minister Lal Chand Kataruchak said on Wednesday.
The food civil supplies and consumer affairs minister said 17 districts in the state have transferred more than 100% of payment of the due MSP, which is to be paid within 48 hours of purchase as per norms, three districts have disbursed more than 95% of the due payment, and the remaining three districts have also made more than 85% of due payment. He further stated on Dusshera (October 24) that as many as 1.20 crore bags of procured paddy was lifted from the mandis across the state.
