Flood alert in Punjab’s Sangrur as water rises in Ghaggar

The district administration in Sangrur, India has issued a flood alert due to continuous heavy rainfall in the area. The Ghaggar river is flowing above the danger mark, causing around 94,000 residents in 27 villages and two cities to be affected by flooding. The floodwaters have not yet receded, and officials have said there are over 50 breaches on the river's embankment. The Bhakra Dam, located on the Sutlej river, is also being monitored as its water level continues to rise.
