Farmers who don’t burn stubble to enjoy privileges at govt offices
Won’t have to wait in queues or make multiple rounds of the offices and their work will be done on priority; the aim of the initiative is to motivate farmers to contribute towards green solutions and adopt environment-friendly methods for management of paddy stubble
If you don’t want to wait in queues and make multiple rounds of government offices and police stations, you must quit the illegal practice of crop residue burning.
The Sangrur administration has decided to give privilege to those farmers, who will not burn paddy stubble in the current harvest season.
The administration has come up with this noble initiative to curb crop residue burning in the district and motivate farmers to leave this illegal practice.
Sangrur deputy commissioner Jitendra Jorwal has already issued an order in this regard and also given instructions to district police and all departments of civil administration.
He said, “Our teams will identify those farmers who did not burn paddy straw and appreciation certificates will be given to them. With the help of appreciation certificates, the farmers will not have to wait in queues or make multiple rounds of the offices and their work will be done on priority at government offices.”
“The aim of the initiative is to motivate farmers to contribute towards green solutions and adopt environment-friendly methods for management of paddy stubble,” he added.
He further said the farmers can avail the benefit of this initiative at every government office.
Sangrur district witnessed around 29 incidents of stubble burning on Wednesday and 177 cases in this season so far.
